Earth Day April 20th at Snyder Park

Over 20 volunteers celebrated Earth Day 2013 at Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale.

Officials from the Parks Department applauded the work done by boys and girls as young as 10 years old as they cleared an area over run by exotic plants and bushes and planted young trees.

Volunteers were told how important their efforts were in restoring Snyder Park, making it a better habitat for birds and butterfly’s and more enjoyable for people too.

CEO, Joan Starr, of Kids Ecology Corp, proudly acknowledged the progress made in revitalizing Snyder Park and thanked the volunteers for their hard work.

KEC’s Master Gardener Art  Constantino tutored the volunteers on how to plant the new trees and encouraged them to start their own home gardens.
