Kids’ Ecology Corps partners with the City of Fort Lauderdale at Snyder Park to present a new program designed for younger kids and their families.  The Program will explore the nature of butterflies and  moths and the connection between their life cycle stages and the specific plants they need.

The five Saturday fun days include hands on learning activities followed by making  two “no water necessary”  terrarium to house butterfly attracting plants, one to take home to start a butterfly garden and one to keep at Snyder Park to help beautify their Butterfly Gardens.

Weather permitting, activities will take place outdoors (and move indoors if there is rain).   Your service to the park experience will include a guided nature walk.   It is best to wear long pants, socks and shoes, and a long-sleeved shirt.  Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended.  Water will be provided.  A donation of unused gardening gloves of any size to support the restoration project at Snyder would be wonderful!

Registration with Hands on Broward is necessary to attend.  Please contact Jennifer Udan at  954.233.1297 or e mail jennifer@handsonbroward.org
